Coffee Makers May Melt and are Recalled

Comments Off

Gevalia is recalling coffee makers that it sent to customers from September of 2006 to January of 2007. The heating element may be bad and is causing the plastic case to melt. This could result in a burn injury for people using the coffee maker.

The recalled product is a 12-cup programmable “Kaffe Combo” coffeemaker with model number CM830 and a glass carafe and two travel mugs. The name “Gevalia” is on the front of the coffeemaker and the model number is located on the bottom of the unit. No other Gevalia coffeemakers are affected by this recall.

Consumers that own this coffee maker should contact Gevalia for a free replacement or a refund. You should stop using the coffee maker immediately. There has been one report of a person receiving a minor burn from the coffee maker. The recall affects 21,000 units.
