$50 Million Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Brandy

Comments Off

The family of a woman who died after being rear-ended on the freeway by singer-actor Brandy Norwood, filed a $50 million civil lawsuit against the entertainer last week according to an article on Billboard.com.

The lawsuit alleges that Brandy was driving recklessly when her Land Rover struck the back of a Honda driven by Awatef Aboudihaj” on Dec. 30.

The thirty-eight year old Los Angeles waitress, wife and mother, was transported to the hospital with major injuries including multiple pelvic fractures and died on New Year’s Eve.

The family filed the complaint in the Van Nuys branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court alleging that Aboudihaj was invaluable to her entire family because she worked three jobs to provide for her three children, her parents and her ill brother and sister.

According the complaint filed by Aboudihaj Ahmed and Labridi Zohra, the deceased women’s parents, they are seeking $50 million in compensatory and punitive damages.

Since 1978 I have represented thousands of people who have been injured or lost a family member due to an auto accident, a defective product or other tragedies caused by someone’s negligence. I am helpless in bringing back what has been lost. The best I can do for an injured client or a grieving family is to get to the bottom of what happened, hold the wrongdoer accountable and obtain as much compensation as the law allows and is available to collect. It is never enough when a life is lost. No amount of money can compensate for a lost famiily member.
